Naming God

| | Comments (3)

Today's reading: Psalm 113:1-9

I love the way the first three verses of Psalm 113 highlight the name of the Lord. Verse 3 is my favorite because it issues the call to "praise the name of the LORD" at all times.

"From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised!" (vs. 3)

Is it your practice to be verbal about "praising the name of the LORD" before others? How do you proclaim and praise God to your coworkers, neighbors, friends, and family members? How do you praise Him privately or inwardly each day? Tami

HalleluYAH HalleluJAH means "praise YAH. YAH is abbreviation for YAHWEH. Psalms 83:18 "that the nations may know that you alone whose NAME is the LORD [CAPITALS] are most high over all the earth." When the word LORD is in capitals it is the personal name of God - YAHWEH. Five times in the first three verses of Psalm 113 highlights the name of the Lord it is LORD ,,, Yahweh . Praise the name of our President it is XXXXX...president? Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD [YAHWEH] to the glory of YAHWEH ,,,God the FATHER.This will be done by ALL mankind by the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name being poured on ALL flesh. Psalms 110:1 The Lord says to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” Jesus quotes this verse about the Father,LORD speaking to the Lord [ the Christ, the messiah who is David's Lord.

I love the next 3 verses...it's amazing to me that they realized in Biblical times there was something beyond the heavens. And, that 'something' was God, and that He is bigger than all of it.

Hi Tami,

Why don't praise the Lord often and more often toward others?
Oh I am so lacking in praising the Lord.

I know for sure if I am intentionally praise the Lord, I will NOT be
complaining,be unhappy, disobeying the Lord and what a great way to be
a testimony among my family, friends, neighbors, workers, and coworkers.
