Prayer Warrior

Today's reading: 2 Timothy 1:1-7

One of the things that stands out to me about Paul is how he truly was what I call a prayer warrior. Constant and fervent praying was his norm. So it's no surprise that he calls for and encourages us to do the same throughout his many letters. From Paul's writings, we see that an extensive portion of his prayer time was dedicated to praying for others—his friends and those to whom he had ministered.

Our lives are filled with challenges, and that can often result in our prayers being primarily self- or family-focused—asking God for personal help, healing, fixes, or safety. And while there's nothing wrong with bringing our personal requests to God (in fact, God wants us to do this), our prayers should also include the needs of others, especially our brothers and sisters in Christ. I'm thankful for Paul's example and these words from 2 Timothy 1:3: ". . .as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day."

How often do you pray in a typical day? For what or for whom do you regularly pray? Is it your practice to pray for friends? Family? People in need? Church and government leaders? What impact does praying for others have on you spiritually? Tami

Tami, This subject of prayer and reading God's Word daily is been on my heart to do daily. I do pray daily and yes I read God's Word daily, but I want to take a special time to pray for all those that you mentioned in your lesson today.
I have interruptions and distraction and today could be the day to pray since I have been given more request for just this morning!

I am not sure the impact it will do to me spiritually if I pray for others, I just want to and people are asking for pray.
