Honorable, Useful, Ready

| | Comments (3)

Today's reading: 2 Timothy 2:20-21; Psalm 51:10-13

Rather than finishing out the remainder of chapter 2, I decided to focus on only two verses today because of the way I was drawn to Paul's words about being an honorable vessel. I must have read this passage five or more times, and each time I got a little more excited and motivated. My thoughts were, I want to be that honorable vessel! I want to be used by God! I want to be ready for every good work He has for me!

When I finished reading, I sent up a prayer to God asking Him to help me be an honorable vessel and letting Him know that I am ready for Him to use me today.

"Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work" (vs. 21).

What encouragement did you draw from this short passage? Is it your desire to be set apart for God, useful to God, and ready for every good work He has for you? Tami

After reading this powerful words. I came to realize, that God wants people like me to use. And open my mouth for Him asking Him if I may find favor in Him.

Tami, I like your title and that is exactly the order we need to aim to be as followers of Jesus the King:

It is exciting to know that God Who is Holy and Honorable has made provisions for us (I) to desire to be vessels of honor for His service!!
I am mindful that this is possible because of why we celebrate Easter!

Yes, it is encouraging that I can be right with God set apart, holy because of His grace and He will use me when I am right with Him and ready to serve Him!!
Yes,this is my prayer too, cleanse of all of my sins and help me to stay pure and holy before You so I can be ready and able to serve you with a right spirit at all times!

Wow, what a good reminder God can use me because He is willing to forgive me when I confess my sins so I can be used by the Righteous God!!
Praise the Lord!

Thanks Tami It is good to be reminded in Timothy 2:20-21 to be an honorable vessel for Him in times of temptations.
