Confident in Christ

Today's reading: 2 Timothy 1:8-18

The world today wants us to feel uncomfortable, ashamed, and embarrassed because we have chosen to follow Christ. I have a heavy heart about our nation's growing negativity and its rejecting attitude toward Christianity, which seems to have accelerated over the past few years. But as I contemplate God's Word, I'm reminded that it's nothing new for God's message of love and salvation to be met with much resistance. Regardless of the spiritual atmosphere, we must be bold about Christ. So I was thankful for Paul urging to Timothy to stand firmly on his relationship with God and to continue to confidently and boldly proclaim Christ through his testimony.

"But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me" (vs. 12).

Are you able to say like Paul, "I am not ashamed of Christ"? How do the people at your school, those you work with, your neighbors, and your family members know that you are a follower of Jesus? What helps you not shrink back when it comes to representing God to others? Tami

Tami, I have not always been bold because I was shy and that I was not a perfect Christian and felt my testimony would be not helpful to others.

I can say I am more bold in sharing the "that I am not ashamed of Christ" Gospel and I read more of God's Word and love Him more and desiring that others know Him and to know that the Lord Jesus loved me so much died that I might have sins forgiven how could I not want to share about Someone Who loves me so much and that I am promised eternal life with Him is something to be bold about sharing with others!

In v13, Follow the pattern of the sound[d] words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
Knowing God loves not only me helps me not to shrink back when representing others to God, they are sometimes the one who make it easy when they ask questions why we are full of peace, love and joy?
