Today's reading: 1 Timothy 6:11-16

If you need a little motivation, what Paul has to say in 1 Timothy 6:11-16 should give you a boost. As I read these verses, I tried to imagine Paul delivering this message. The picture that came to my mind was a fired up, energetic coach giving a motivational halftime speech to encourage, charge, and challenge his team (Timothy and us as fellow believers) to embrace living for God to the full! And what an effective coach Paul is. By the time I reached the end of this short passage, he had me saying, "Yes, Lord! I want to be all in for you!"

How did Paul's words impact or motivate you today? What's one example of how are you are living out Paul's charges to "fight the good fight of faith" and "take hold of the eternal life to which you were called" (vs. 12)? Tami

Hi Tami,

Yes,to keep fight the good fight of faith, never surrender or compromise our conviction to stay true to God's Word.
One example is staying in the Word and let the Word of God speak for me and not my opinions.

I like the following quote in Bible Ref
"This chapter completes Paul's highly practical instructions to his friend and student, Timothy. The major focus of this passage is proper Christian conduct, and the avoidance of evil. Paul gives several character flaws common in those who teach false doctrine. He also provides a stark warning about the dangers of greed and materialism. Those who become obsessed with wealth open themselves to virtually any other sin one can imagine. Timothy is given a clear mandate to uphold his faith and testimony, along with Paul's blessings and encouragement."
