1 Timothy Wrap

Today's reading: 1 Timothy 1-6

Thanks for spending the last couple of weeks reading through 1 Timothy with me and considering Paul's words of instruction and encouragement to his fellow worker, Timothy.

I always enjoy spending time in this book because it contains many good lessons. But what I like most, and what always stands out to me, is the care Paul takes to be precise and detailed with his directives to Timothy. Paul is truly an engaged mentor as well as a pretty amazing friend to Timothy. His example is one that I desire to follow as I navigate life with the goal of loving, helping, and serving others.

Identify at least one message God impressed on your heart or revealed to you for the first time from this book. What was the most significant thing you took away from Paul's example or instruction, and how are you going to make use of it? Tami

Tami, I am not good at choosing one thing and here in I Timothy we learn a lot from Paul who is instructing Timothy.
But I will settle for the following that I will quote you first,Tami said,"While not all of us are in positions of church leadership, and we may not even have church leadership on our current "to do list," the bottom line is that these qualities are things we should aim to possess as followers of Christ. As I read through these lists, I found myself thinking over and over again, "Yes, I want to be like that!"

I had never thought of the list for church leaderships position qualities that I should desire to do as a follower of Christ.
What Paul taught Timothy are principles that I should apply to my life too.
Lord, help me to be a better equipped follower of yours like Paul's student, Timothy.
