With God

Today's reading: Ephesians 6:10-20

Paul closes out his teaching to the believers in Ephesus with the instruction to put on (action required) the whole armor of God. This is no doubt an important and powerful passage for us to understand and put into practice in our daily lives. Paul's words in verses 11 and 13 stood out to me as I read through this scripture.

"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil." (vs. 11)

"Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm." (vs. 13)

How encouraging to know that as followers of Christ (with God), we have the power to stand firmly against and not be overcome by the evil forces and schemes that are prevalent all around us.

How often do you think about the fact that battling against the spiritual forces of evil is part of day-to-day living? How does knowing that you have the ability to stand firmly and strongly against the devil/spiritual warfare encourage you today? Tami

I do not think about it as a spiritual battle like Paul is describing here, but I am aware of a lot of problems could be avoided if those who do not know the Lord would yield to Him as their Master and Lord.
Today I have been made aware again what I have been calling struggles and stress, suffering that we are made aware of through my family

Yes it is encouraging that all the armour needed are met in God Who will win every battle that the Devil would ever atempt to try on God's children.
Each piece of armour bears God's attribute!
Verse 10 " be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might."
With God we will win every battle that we turn over to Him.

In closing I would like to add Paul is asking us to pray for the all the saint and for himself too to be bold sharing the gospel
vs18" making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me,"
