Today's reading: Ephesians 5:22-33

Paul's instruction concerning marriage in Ephesians 5—particularly the charge for wives to submit to their husbands—can spark a bit of controversy. But when we read and consider Ephesians 5:22-33 as a whole, what we see is the description of a properly functioning marital relationship. It's a picture of teamwork and partnership between two very different people who have chosen to come together in love and support one another.

"Let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband." (vs. 33)

What does this passage reveal about the importance of love in a marital relationship? What does it show about how love functions to unite husbands and wives together and strengthen relationships? Tami

Thank you for presenting this today as this past Friday I was presented with divorce papers and I would ask for prayer.
I know that the Lord hates Divorce and he has the final word on marriage.
We have been married for 26 years and we are both saved but she is hurting and I need to be there for her.
I will always be her husband and the Lords promises never come back void.

Before I answer today's questions, I want to let Anonymous know that I will be praying for both of you two. That is a long time marriage to end.

I enjoy your blog/study very much!
You have the gift of writing!
Tami's quote-
" It's a picture of teamwork and partnership between two very different people who have chosen to come together in love and support one another."

Your choice of words describing Eph. 5:23-33 "teamwork", "partnership", "love"and "support" " two different people" was perfect!

Oh that Christian couples would keep these postive words in their minds and hearts when they face times where they have different views!

This is a beautiful way to keep two people to cherish their relationship with God has the head of their marriage.

These chosen words would do well for those in a work relationship too.

God bless your pen Tami!
