Intentional Growth

| | Comments (1)

Today's reading: 1 Peter 2:1-3

Once we receive Christ as our Savior, it's God's desire that we grow spiritually and become more and more like Christ, deepening our relationship with Him in doing so. But unlike physical growth, which happens naturally, spiritual growth requires effort and intentionality. Thus Peter's instruction in 1 Peter 2:1-3 to rid ourselves of sinful and harmful behaviors--like malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander--and instead seek after the right and wholesome truth (spiritual nourishment) we can only receive through God's Word.

How often do you think about your spiritual growth? What you need to do to continue moving forward? On a scale of 1 to 10, how intentional are you about daily spending time in God's Word? What's an example of how you have "tasted that the Lord is good"? Tami

Tami Thanks for these powerful lessons from I Peter.
My mind my thinking and my attitude should be focused on how I can please and honor the Lord.
May I intentionally grow in the Lord to be mindful of my sins and ask God to forgive me,cleanse me and may I intentionally seek His Word to show me my sins and show me how to grow holy and intentionally to please Him instead of me.
