Holy

Today's reading: Psalm 99:1-9

Three times in the nine short verses of Psalm 99, we're told that God is holy (pure, righteous, set apart from any evil). Accompanying this declaration is the command to praise His name (vs. 3), exalt the Lord and worship at his footstool (vs. 5) and exalt the Lord and worship at his holy mountain (vs. 9).

Why is it important to know that God is holy? What are you going to do with the recurring instructions to exalt the Lord and worship Him? How will you put this into practice over the next week and beyond? Tami

So thankful for the daily devotions. Have truly encouraged my life. Thank you so much Tami

Knowing God is holy causes me to see my sins, unholiness and need for Him. It causes me to tremble, fear and revere God Who Holy.

God Who is holy has made the provision for salvation through His Son Who died on the Cross so I can confess my sins and ask Him to be the Lord of my life. I can have a deep fellowship with Him in prayer and reading His Word. He is the One Who enables me to be holy like He is. Of course, I will still sin, but have a different attitude towards it. Instead having pleasures of sin ( for a season) I will see it as evil and which separates me from my relationship to the Lord.
Knowing that I have my sins forgiven and that I can have a personal relationship with the Holy God causes me to want to worship Him and to please Him.

Lord, help me to put this into practice to desire to be more like You over the next week and beyond!!

God is Holy and desires us to serve and commune with Him causes me to break out and Praise Him for His holiness, mercy, grace, forgiveness and fellowship!!
