Lender

Today's reading: Proverbs 19:17

"Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed" (Proverbs 19:17).

What does Proverbs 19:17 reveal about the value God places on helping people who are in need? Would you describe yourself as a "lender" to the Lord? What's one example of God blessing you when you've extended help to someone? Tami

Proverbs 19:17 is verified in 1 Timothy 6:17-19 "Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;" "That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;" "Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life."

I would say that God puts a high regard to being a lender because He will do the same to the lender ( repay).

I am not aware of any financial gain for being a lender, but according to this verse in I Timothy 6:17-19 " repay" may come later for eternity! When I lend to the Lord, then I KNOW that I am doing the right thing. We know that God is pleased when we help those who are in need.
