Prayer Matters

Today's reading: Ephesians 1:15-23

Paul was a prayer warrior. He knew the power and importance of prayer, and as a result, constantly talking with and bringing requests to God was part of his daily life routine.

Paul's example in the area of prayer is something we would all do well to follow. One thing that repeatedly stands out to me from Paul's prayers (and we see it here in Ephesians) is his diligence in praying for others. And his prayers contain more than what I call the typical earthly needs requests (health, finances, jobs, relationships). Paul's requests also include spiritual matters--requests for God to help and move people forward in the areas of spiritual knowledge, wisdom and growth--all critically important things for believers.

When you pray for yourself and others, is it your practice to ask God for help with spiritual matters--spiritual growth, wisdom, knowledge, discernment? Why is this important? How will you draw on Paul's example in Ephesians 1:15-23 going forward? Tami

I am not always praying for others spiritual growth as I am of their healing.
What I have drawn out of Paul's prayers for others to grow spiritual was for the main purpose for the Lord's glory. To know Him better as we grow.
vs. 17 "revelation and knowledge of HIM." vs. 18 " called you"
vs. 19 "IMMEASURABLE GREATNESS of HIS POWER

I am sure that I have missed some but, this is why it is important that we pray for spiritual growth for us and others is that we might see Jesus who is the ONE to Whom is our source to grow for His honor and glory.

I need to incorporate Paul's example to pray for not only my spiritual growth for others to give the Worthy One praise, glory and honor because Of Him we can grow in Him.

I don't pray these things enough--I need to pray these prayers for the ones I love.
