Today's reading: 1 Corinthians 4:1-21

Throughout 1 Corinthians 4 Paul conveys what being a minister of the Gospel message looks like and entails to the believers in Corinth--being teachers, stewards, servants, trustworthy, held in disregard, poor, etc. What he describes is not a particularly easy road. Then Paul reminds the Corinthians of his special relationship with them (a spiritual father in that he introduced them to Jesus), and urges them to be imitators of him as they live for Christ.

How would you describe being a disciple of Christ to a new believer? What does being a disciple look like in your day-to-day life? Tami

Being a disciple of Christ is obeying Someone Who wants the very best for your life. What you give up or surrender, you are reward with the best from Christ!

Oh dear, I sure need to follow Him all through the day,not during and right after I have heard or read the Word.

I heard a young teen say that he wanted what that Christian families has. This was said after this closed-knit family lost a son in an truck accident at 15 years of age!

A mature Christian once said to me that to be a disciple is to be involved with people, helping them grow, and inevitably you will be hurt by others. What Paul says confirms this. But really what else is there? Christ has the words of life, I will follow Him.
