Embracing The Plan

| | Comments (2)

Today's reading: Acts 4:23-31

As soon as Peter and John are released, they join up with a group of other Christ-followers and tell them about their arrest and interrogation experience. Upon hearing all that Peter and John have to say, the group turns to a time of corporate prayer. They recognize God's sovereignty and fully embrace that opposition and hardship are part of His supreme plan. Then with this submitted mindset, they ask God to continue to encourage, empower and prompt them to spread the Gospel message--no matter the circumstances they encounter.

How does knowing that opposition and difficulty are part of God's plan help you cope when you encounter and experience hardships? What impact does praising God when you encounter difficulty have on your attitude and thinking? Tami

You know, when the word tells us to continue to pray without stopping. With each obstacle in life that I have I understand it more and more. We don't know what is going to happen from minuet to minuet. The good comes and the bad comes. So it is important to have the word and the holy spirit in you to always guide and help when u need it. Praise Him!

What a polar opposite of what we have a tendency to do today. Faced with similar situations, the modern response would be to pray for the removal of the opposition and threats. The apostles prayed for boldness to keep doing what they knew to do in the face of the threats.
