Seize and Claim

Today's reading: Psalm 125:1-5

The first two verses of Psalm 125 are incredibly powerful in that they contain promises that we can and should seize and claim.

"Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore" (Psalm 125:1-2).

What encouragement and hope do you find in these two verses? What does claiming the promises laid out in this passage mean for you? Tami

It's an encouraging thing to know that the Spirit strengthens and sustains God's people, even during the fiercest of storms. He never fails us!

I read this just now...that scripture has me beaming with confidence right now!!...Thanks soooo much for sharing it Tami! ^_^...this week is my week of challenge and I'm just trusting God to help me really seize and claim the moment, the opportunities, the blessings, the favour....all that He wants in my destiny......AWESOME ENCOURAGEMENT EVEN AS I'M UP STUDYING...GOD BLESS U!! -Your lil sis in Christ from Jamaica ^_^ :P

I really love this psalm; this comforts me so much to know that God surrounds me and he never fails and I know he never moves. I am blind, so when I was in school, my mobility instructor that showed me around the school and outside told me the difference between a clue and a landmark. A clue gives you a hint of what you're coming to, but it can be moved, whereas a landmark lets you know when you're coming to something, but it does not move. To me, God is my landmark because he never moves and he's with me; he never leaves my side. If I believe in him and abide by his commandments I know I'm in the right place.
