God's Word

Today's reading: Psalm 119:1-8

Psalm 119 is one of my favorite Psalms because it's all about God's Word, and is filled with encouragement and instruction to take it in and live it out. This large chapter (176 verses) is divided into titled, 8 verse segments or stanzas so that's how we'll move through it, 8 verses at a time.

The first segment, Aleph, focuses on knowing and following God's law. Verse 6 was key for me. What a comfort to know that when I am diligent in keeping my eyes on God and living according to His Word, I will not be put to shame.

Was there a particular verse from Aleph that touched your heart today and why? Tami

Verse 5 we find it so challenging when we want to do the will of GOD because evil is also trying to make a case for itself So tha is why we have to constantly turn to GOd's words to stay on the right path

Psalm 119:5-6 touched my heart "Oh that my ways may be steadfast
in keeping your statutes!" : "Then I shall not be put to shame,
having my eyes fixed on all your commandments".

This is the earnest desire of my heart to keep all of God's commandments so diligently and faithfully that I will not be convicted so often by the word of God and have to confess, repent and ask for forgiveness so regularly.

All praise, thanks and glory to GOD ALMIGHTY who is so patient, loving and forgiving.

Regards in Christ

Cecil

Verse 7: "I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws." Good to know that we can praise God and that He's patient with us as we learn His precepts.

Verse 7 stood out for me. " I will praise You with an upright heart when I learn your precepts". God's Word remind us that we should come before Him with clean hands and a pure heart. Reading the Word helps us to learn more about Him and allows us, through the Holy Spirit, to be responsive to His teachings.. Oh may our praise to our lLord and Saviour be acceptable at all times.
