Interactive God

| | Comments (2)

Today's reading: Luke 18:35-43; Mark 10:46-52

The interaction between Jesus and the blind man, Bartimaeus, caught my attention today. Jesus heard the cries of Bartimaeus to "have mercy on me" and could certainly see that this man was blind and wanted healing. Yet when Bartimaeus is before Him, Jesus, rather than simply healing him, still asks "What do you want me to do?" The time that Jesus took to come face to face with this man and the fact that he wanted to hear the man's request highlighted for me God care for us, His interest in the details of our lives and His desire to interact with us.

So how are you interacting with God? Is it your practice to tell him everything that is on your heart--needs, thanks, your situation, questions, fears, joys, praise? Tami

The very fact that I can share everything in my heart and mind with the Lord is a blessing and a privilege!

Asking for something specific brings our need/want out in the open. How many times have our silent prayers been answered, our needs met and yet we don't realize or acknowledge than Christ fulfilled them.
We pray for protection but don't see the accident that was prevented. Our bodies are healed and we praise the doctors without glorifying God. Maybe when Jesus was asking 'what do you want me to do' He was also asking 'do you have faith that I can do this'.
