Steadfast in Prayer

| | Comments (3)

Today's reading: Colossians 4:2-5

One constant theme with Paul is the importance of prayer--praying for others and also asking others to pray for him. So here, again, Paul is encouraging and urging these believers to utilize the power of prayer.

So based on this passage, how important is it to pray for our church leaders and other Christ-followers? Who will you pray for this week? Tami

Prayer is a very special gift, and so many times I forget how special due to being to busy. But its like a breathe of fresh air, or that solemn moment of reflection of who my God really is. Then when I pray for others it reminds me of our ability to encourage others through prayer. In particular, I have some loved ones/friends that lost their marriage partner through accident/sickness. I have woke up in the middle of the night often with the left behind spouse on my mind and take that time to pray for that person. I can't imagine what that loss feels like. So prayer for all those that God puts on our hearts is important!

It is very very important to pray for our leaders, followers of Christ, family, friends etc. We must always remember that they are human beings just like us, who sometimes are face with the same or greater challenges we face. No one is independent of prayer because we all constantly stuggle with physical and spiritual challenges.

I will pray today for my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Prayer is vital for all of us as believers. I'm lifting up my congregation, loved ones, and some friends who are experiencing rough times.
