Thank You, Fathers

Happy Father's Day

Matthew 6:23-33

With today being Father's Day, I thought it would be nice for us to share something we're thankful for pertaining to our fathers. Now before I turn to my earthly father, I first want to recognize and thank my heavenly Father for who He is and how He has taken care of and provided for me. So, thank you, God!

My dad has been gone now for almost 14 years. And even though I can't talk with him any longer, I am thankful for what he taught me about loving others. My dad was very open about his love for me, my mom and my siblings. He would tell us "I love you" frequently. But the biggest lesson about love came from just watching him. My dad truly backed up his loving words with his attitude and actions--helping anyone he saw who was in need, working long hours to provide for the family, standing by one of us kids even when we did something stupid. And even when he disciplined me, I knew he was doing it out of love. So I'm thankful for the love lessons I learned from my dad.

Ok, now it's your turn. First take a minute to thank God for being your heavenly Father. Then tell us something you're thankful for when it comes to your father (whether that's your biological father, a step-father, a foster father or a man who was a mentor or role model for you growing up). Tami

HI TAMMI

IT HAS TO BE GOD'S GRACE WHY SO OFTEN YOU MAKE COMMENTS THAT RESONATE WITH MY SPIRIT. YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN AND THERE ARE TEARS IN MY EYES RIGHT NOW AS YOU HAVE JUST SPOKEN FOR ME ABOUT MY HEAVENLY AND EARTHLY FATHERS (THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU). BY THE WAY MY EARTHLY FATHER DEPARTED THIS LIFE FOURTEEN YEARS AGO ON FEBRUARY 3, 1999.

THE LAST WORDS MY BROTHER HEARD HIM SAY AS HE LAY DYING WAS "LORD I AM READY". INTERESTINGLY AT HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WHEN HIS CASKET WAS IN THE VAULT AND ABOUT TO BE SEALED, IN THE MIDDLE OF A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY, THERE WAS AN EXCEEDINGLY LOUD CLAP OF THUNDER. INTERESTING HUH?

REGARDS IN CHRIST

Family really is a precious gift from God, and so it's definitely fitting to give Him praise for this blessing!

My Dad's more than a Father to me. He's been my lifelong pastor, a mentor in ministry, and a best friend. But, in filling all of those roles, he's always been a father first, and I appreciate that fact.

First, I 'm very grateful for GOD allowing me to be one of HIS. I know very little about my biological father. My mother was both parents to me. And if she was here today I would tell her that I love her dearly. My mom is no longer with me on this earth. GOD called her home 5 years ago. However, GOD is my Father and I love HIM dearly for truely HE has shown me how a Father is .The love and guidance that HE is giving me is more than enough. When I get weary and sad HE comforts me. When I need to talk with HIM, HE is always here. No matter where I'm at HE is here and HIS love is unconditional. HE accepts me and knows me better than I know myself. HE is always preparing me for what HE has prepared me for. Sometimes in this life I have gone a stray and HE always finds me and shows me HE loves me. So, I thankful that I have been chosen as HIS daughter.

well, my Dad is one of those person when it comes to providing for the family the no button was erase from his life, and also when it is time to help those in need you could always count on him ,But one of the thing that stands out in my mind is the way he always try to instill Godly values to us , and those values today are the guiding points in my life.So i am thankful to God for providing me with such a wonderful Dad.
