Different Thinking

Ephesians 4:17-26

Paul is calling us to live righteously and in so doing to be a godly example through our actions and lifestyles in Ephesians 4:17-32. So how do we accomplish that? Not on our own, that's for sure. Verse 23 tells us "to be renewed in the spirit of your minds" or in other words to let the Spirit give us new thoughts and attitudes.

So how has being a Christ-follower changed your thoughts and actions? Is it your daily practice to ask God to guide and direct your life? Tami

I like the advise the Lord gives us through the Apostle in verses 22-24; "to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness"

The concept of "putting off" (the old self) and 'putting on" (Christ-likeness) is key (as you say at Back to the Bible) in helping us in "winning the day spiritually"!

Being a Christ follower leaves me humbled as I read Scripture. There is so much more to learn, to practice, to be as a follower of Christ. One thing I've learned for sure is to always ask God's direction instead of asking for God's blessing on my direction. May my choice be what God's choice would be for me is how I am learning to live. I have not arrived and may never totally arrive at a point of always asking God which way before making my choice. However, each day is opportunity to begin anew in living out what Scripture I intake each day.

The Holy Spirit's guidance is so important for my life. It's His leadership, His direction, His comfort, and His assurances that empower me to strive to live in a way that pleases Him.
