Absolute Reliance

Psalm 83

Psalm 83 is a crying out to God for action and justice. The psalmist, Asaph, lays out all the evidence, the offenses against God, of the surrounding nations and peoples. Then he boldly asks God, in a variety of ways, to intervene and handle the situation. Now I applaud Asaph's example here because so many times our initial response is to try and deal with wrongdoing or problems ourselves. Not the case here.

So how do we get to the point where we turn our difficulties and problems over to God no matter what? What's it going to take for us to absolutely trust that He will handle it? Tami

I know that, in my case, I was able to see firsthand early in my life how God can handle even the greatest of tragedies better than we ever could, and I've seen him turn those things into the greatest of blessings. He has proven Himself time and time again in every life, and, if we're paying attention, we'll see that and know that we couldn't possibly place the circumstances of our lives in better hands than His.

i was just amazed at how this psalm applies to israel today. let us pray for israel and peace in jerusalem.

Fighting the battles on our own, for the most part, lead to failure. I have learnt to be consistent in my reliance on God. At times the 'physical' me, would want to take over in certain situations, but I am nudged by the Holy Spirit to remember Isaiah 41 v 10 ..."Fear thou not for I am with thee ................ I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness". What marvelous assurance !!!!
