All Times

Psalm 70

I don't like asking for help and feeling "poor and needy" (verse 5). I much prefer being independent and feeling confident and self sufficient. Can you relate? I've found, however, that I benefit from and need those hard and challenging experiences because that's when some of my most intimate times with the Lord occur. With that said, however, I really want and need good fellowship with the Lord in all times.

So how can we work on consistently having intimate and meaningful times with the Lord in all seasons? Tami

Yes, knowing that Good Times aren't always God Time. We have to remember those times of Faith when We really seek Gods Guidance are really Enjoyable Times. When We have a clear path filled with less concerns We can actually lose the Joy of seeking God because We do it less. Simply We need to realize and Remember the Joy of Seeking God in every situation of Life

It kinda goes against our nature to feel helpless/needy, but, I guess learning by experience, it's during those times of helplessness and as we cry out to Him, we can feel His presence in great ways! I'm learning to "enjoy" helplessness/weakness!

I guess it boils down to what Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount; Matthew 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven"

First I believe it is pride that prevents us for asking for help when we are feeling poor and needy. Over the last 20 years I have learned that it is important to ask God and others when I am in this state. First we are to ask God for help and praise Him in both good and hard times. Secondly when we don't ask for help from other believer's than we are stealing a blessing in which God wants to give them by helping us. I also believe we are sinning when we don't ask for God for help not only is it pride but it's we don't trust God and tell God we don't need Him we know what's best. For myself I don't know what's best so I have to keep learning to trust Him.

Consistently having meaningful, intimate times with God comes with drawing closer and closer to Him. As we become more like Him, we'll find that our relationship with Him is that much sweeter.
