Psalm 95:1-11

There are a number of commands in Psalm 95. The first is for us to sing and come into the presence of the Lord with thanksgiving, and right after these, we see the reasons for doing this (the Lord is a great God, etc.). The next command I see is for us to worship and bow down to the Lord (vs. 6), and here's why. "For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand" (vs. 7). For me, this is the key verse in Psalm 95 because it gives us such an accurate picture of our relationship with God.

So what does it mean to you that God is your God and that you are a sheep of his hand? Based on your response, how will you sing, worship and bow down to Him today? Tami W.

God is my God - He is sovereign over all, and that includes me. He has chosen me & I believe on Him. Yes, He is God & I am His sheep; I am His child. Since I am a sheep, this means that God, the Lord is my shepherd. He cares for me. I am secure in His love, His care, His provisions... everything, all my needs He will provide. In His care I don't have to worry or be anxious about today or the days to come.

How will I sing? I will sing His praises in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. What a joy it is to sing! It draws me closer to the Lord. I love to sing the Scripture songs because it helps me to treasure His Word in my heart.

How will I worship & bow down? I will worship in church and in my home, acknowledging that HE is Lord. I will lift up His name! This will be my aim each day, not just to pray & praise Him, not just to ask & receive, but to worship Him in love & adoration.

I looked this up in my own bible and the last verse 11 "So I declared on oath in my anger "They shall never enter my rest" Really spoke to me. I have to remember that I am not in control and that I am a sheep among the flock. Ready to be guided and able to handle whatever life can throw at me. I have been praying for some kind of rest from all the personal stress people have put upon me. But this one passage made me realize that maybe I am putting it more upon myself and I need to stop being angry and start trusting.

Interestingly I feel more like the sheep that are disobedient to the voice of the Lord and keep testing His patience. I see HIm do amazing things but when the next challenge comes up I complain and distrust and do it my way. If God is truly my God I need to heed his voice (His Word) and obey. I need to follow even though I don't understand and trust that God will work everything to the good because I love HIm. I will give worship and bow down by giving God the first of my day to read HIs word, to seek His heart for where he might lead me that is different from my own plans, and as I serve my family and clients where I work. I will seek to renew my negative thinking and quick temper through His Word as I write it on my heart. I hope this will radiate Jesus that others might see a change so that He is glorified!!

God being the Great Shepherd, He knows and guides His sheep perfectly. No matter what life may throw my way, I can trust Him! He is certainly worthy of the highest praise!

It's amazing you shared this today. This morning I preached on what it means to love the Lord with all your heart, love the Lord with all your soul, Love the Lord with all your mind, Love the Lord with all your strength. To Love your neighbor as yourself. It was amazing what I learned and how God wants our all. Jesus was our greatest example of what it means to love our neighbor has ourselves when He went through the trial(s), beating, carring His cross and hanging on the cross. Now with that said, to answer your question; why wouldn't I want to give my all in worship to someone who Loves me so much to do what God has done for me.

I wish their was a like button for all your comments. Thank you all and thank yoy God! I love you Jesus...
