No If, Thens

Revelation 10:1-11:19

We covered more than normal in our reading today so thanks for taking a little extra time to read it all. I was drawn to Chapter 11 and the two witnesses. These two people and what's happening around them have always intrigued me. There is just so much to consider--symbolism, details, things yet to come.

So there I was, taking in all these things about the two witnesses and it dawned on me that what we're being shown here is a magnificent display of God's absolute control and authority over all. Think about it. We don't see any "if this happens, then...." in these verses. Just the opposite, we see specific times, events, happenings. Even the death of the two witnesses happens on God's timetable and as part of His plan. It's not that Satan finally overcomes and is able to kill them. The witnesses are martyred only when God allows it.

So what do these two chapters of Revelation, and particularly chapter 11, show us about God's power, control, standards, His plan? How can we use what we see in these verses when it comes to trusting God with the details or our life? Tami W.

Mark Lowry once asked the question, "Did it ever occur to you that nothing ever occurs to God?" There's nothing in this world that catches Him off guard! He's the One in control of all things, so it only makes sense that we would trust Him with the details of our lives!

What I took away from these two chapters was that there is a detailed, divine plan, and that though we will/are failing as nations and will bring down God's judgement on mankind, God is forgiving of his servants "...and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear your name, both small and great...".

None of His prophecy and promises about us shall pass. I trust Him with my life.LORD I GIVE MY LIFE TO YOU.
