Critical Response

Revelation 15:1-16:21

We've now reached the final set of seven judgments--the bowl judgments, and the end of the tribulation period is near. Seven angels unleash these horrific judgments and it appears that they are set in motion in fairly rapid succession. God is in control and the people are seeing His righteousness being demonstrated through judgment and wrath. Yet as we saw with earlier judgments, there is no sense of remorse, repentance, or turning toward God. Instead, we're told the people "cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not repent or give him glory" (vs. 9); they "cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. They did not repent of their deeds" (vs. 11); and yet again they "cursed God for the plague of the hail" (vs. 21).

How we choose to respond to the events in our lives, and ultimately to God, who is in control of our lives, is critical. Life isn't a cake walk. Tough things--death, sickness, financial problems, failed relationships, job loss, you name it--are going to happen.

So what can we do to keep our hearts open and submissive to God and His authority and control at all times? And how can we prepare now for when one of those hard times hits us head on? Tami W.

I remember telling my family once during a really trying time " It is easy to follow the Lord when things are going great and they have been for us" bad times have hit guys here is where the rubber meets the road. I did not realize at the time how right I was. However I knew God was faithful and he has been. How great thou are!

To stay open and submissive to Him, we must stay in communion and communication with Him and seek to draw closer to Him each day.

Our own attitude is usually what causes us to sin, therefore we need to check it before God everyday make sure its in alignment with his will. Staying humble is another reminder and prayer that I have to ask for regularly and then last but not least trust in the Lord for all things. When things occur that are out of our control, which really includes just about everything; we find ourselves physically and mentally exhausted. I pray that in the future I will cut to the chase and look up immediately. Stumbling around in unknown territory is not a good way to redeem our time.

Those wraths cannot be waited. lets worship the lord jesus only

Baby Lilly "now" weighs 4lbs and still needs oxygen but she is no longer having "labored" breathing. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers! Our GOD is an awesome GOD!

What helps me is knowing that God is an all-knowing and loving God. He sees things we can't. He knows things we don't know. And He loves us more than anything. Knowing this reminds me that He will have my best interest in mind and that no matter what it looks like or feels like now, God sees the big picture and will never leave my side. Praying and communicating with God helps keep me strong, lets me vent my frustrations even though he knows what I'm feeling. The more we talk and spend time with God, the closer we are to him and the easier it is to stay strong in our faith. Proverbs 3:5-6
