Shot in the Arm

Romans 8:31-39

If you feel like you're in need of a boost or a shot in the arm, then Romans 8:31-39 is a great passage for you. I think of it as one of those "energy drink" passages in the Bible. It's a complete pick me up. How awesome to know "If God is for us, who can be against us?" and that nothing--NOTHING--can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:3,35-39).

So what encouraged you from this passage? What does Romans 8:31-39 show you about the depth, strength and magnitude of God's love? Tami W.

The love of God in Jesus Christ our Lord! These passages are all about Jesus who gave Himself to die, be buried and rise again for us. It is incomprehensive to think He loves us so much when we ALL are so unlovely. I can only imagine what it will be like to be physically and spiritually whole with YOU Lord Jesus!!! Thank You JESUS, there is something about that name!!! In His Grip forever and ever and ever and ever!!!!!!!!

Indeed, 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Gods love, grace and mercy are revealed in Christ.
But v35 asks, "Who?", why "We" ourselves. The spirit is poured out on us, convicts us, bears witness for and of God to us.

We turn from His portions of His Word, like beets at a salad bar.

Imagine this, there is a:
1.) Biblical Jesus
2.) Mormon Jezus
3.) Moslem Jezus (Isa)
4.) and yes, a Universalist Jezus
To name a few variations.

All claim to be Jesus, like the dude in Florida, like Louis Farrakhan.

So you can even claim to believe in Jezus, but if it's not our Lord, Jesus Christ, you are following a false messiah.

We are who, seeking teachers for our itchy ears.

Grace and Peace, until Judgment Day

Reminds me of the old hymn...

"The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell..."

This passage is very encouraging as followers we need to be reassured in this changing world as to not lose hope. It reminds of that God is in control. I thank God for his son and sacrifice to save us. Amen!

I always found this painful. I know God loves me even if I sin myself to hell. It doesn't help me not sin.

The passage shows just how much love God has for mankind, and the depths He will go for us.The way he sacrificed His son on our behalf and the amount of grace given to all.

The ONLY sin that will send people to hell and then the lake of fire, which is the 2nd death, is unbelief in Jesus Christ. And this is not easy belief, you must be born again"born from above" and this is all done by Jesus Christ. You have to be transformed by His Spirit, this is a permanent transformation. It's like in human terms when you switch on the light and it expels darkness, except this is a permanent light and never to be in darkness again, never to be turned off again. You will know when you are His child because the Holy Spirit will ALWAYS confirm to us that we are HIS children, we can fool people but we can not fool Jesus Christ. He knows HIS sheep and WE hear His voice. However we will always sin in this flesh, which is not the sin of unbelief, but from the curse. Our battle is against the world, the devil and the flesh. The ONLY time we will not commit sins is when we will pass away into our Home-eternity!!! Always In His Grip!

A few years ago, I was making out my "will and memorial service" for my attorney. After a long discussion I am going to have verse 35-39 of Romans 8 on my headstone. These verses spoke to me as if I were the only person who needed to hear them and I believe that God was telling my how much He really loves me and noone else can ever love me like this. Here is the difficult part to this whole issue I can never experience this from another human because of the expections and conditions we put on loving each other and even time commitments. Thank God for His mercy and love.

Excellent translation Mike F. It was very helpful to me!

I had being a regular listener of your radio broadcast in one of our local radio in Freetown Sierra Leone. The 25 minute broadcast serves as a daily tea into my mind.
I thank you and for a wonderful energizer every morning.
Been born again for the past 17yrs i have found nothing sweeter than being in Christ Jesus. How I wish every body will accept Christ.By the grace of God, i will continue to run the race so that many will be attracted to join the athletic team of Christ Jesus. The rock of salvation will always be our foundation.

Thank you, Mike F.
