Let Go

What Keeps Me from Growing

Psalm 55:1-23

On any given day I carry a variety of burdens, sometimes they're big and other times they're small. Either way, based on Psalm 55, and especially verse 22, I need to be giving them all over to the Lord. Yet, I don't always do that ...or it takes me a little while to let go and really give it over. Any of this sound familiar to you?

So why is it that we don't always take full advantage of this awesome promise? What are you hanging onto today that needs to be given to God? Let Him help because He's waiting. Tami W.

P.S. I'm excited about a brand new 2-week series starting today on Back to the Bible called What Keeps Me from Growing. Based on research from our Center for Bible Engagement, Dr. Kroll will be teaching on the most common temptations that hinder spiritual growth ... and, of course, how to overcome them. Be sure to visit backtothebible.org each day to download a study on the day's topic, including a Baker's Dozen of Verses to help you fight each temptation.

I am fervently praying for my beloved America, that we will repent and be saved. We were a country founded on the Judeo-Christian way of life and have drifted so far away from HIM. We have to get back to our roots and this will start with me, praying to YOU JESUS that I will walk in YOUR ways. "I am THE way, THE truth and THE life; no one comes to the Father, but through ME" Jn.14:6. Always In His Grip.

My husband and I were just commenting yesterday about how much we enjoyed having God plan our day.
I know He gives us strength for whatever we need for the day. But yes, sometimes I forget to give my momentary troubles to God.....then I realize I am not at peace and am learning to quickly turn things over to my awesome God.

Worry becomes ingrained within us, and we also, often times, get the mistaken idea that what we're concerned about doesn't concern God. The fact is, though, that if something matters to us, it matters to Him, because we matter to Him.

The biggest thing that is holding me back from letting go of the things that I am holding on to and not trusting this promise to it's fullness is lack of trust. I think there are a lot of people in the same position I am in because they have been hurt, let down or even abused. I have been in all 3 of those positions over my lifetime, and it is very hard for me to let go and trust God completely. There are even "believers" today that I know from my past that continue to condem me and accuse me. Instead of challenging me, encourging me or lifting me up either by word or deed or even praying for me. If we as Christ followers are not being Christ like to each other than how can one expect one to trust Christ and His promises.
