Nehemiah 13:1-14
The first three verses of Nehemiah 13 were significant for me. The people are reading the Law and they discover that what they're doing, intermarrying with the Ammonites and the Moabites, is contrary to God's commands. So what did they do? They immediately took action to correct the situation.
So how do you typically respond when you discover new Truth in God's Word? What does our manner of response reveal about our heart and commitment to the Lord? Tami W.

It shows how sincere we are about our relationship with God. I dont think God expects us to change are habits overnight, but I do feel he wants us to constantly strive to be where he wants us to be.And to put him first in our life and to look to him for guidance and direction in our lives.
I know that it's my desire to respond in the affirmative to God's leading through His Word, moving as He says to move, and staying put when He says to stay put.
His Word being the final authority for believers, our response to the Bible's truths speak volumes about our real commitment level to Him.
When I discover new truth in God's Word, I pray that the Lord enables me to live according to that truth and I stop doing the wrong thing. I believe that as we believers ask of God to change our hearts and deeds, He will do that. A believer testifies to God & the community that He loves the Lord by obeying the commands in the Bible. We show our love of God by loving our brothers.
I am so glad that God's Word is so contemporary, meaning that it speaks even to me in my world of falling short and forgiveness and reconciliation and trying again where I have fallen short of His expectations of me. God's Word always speaks to me and I praise Him typically with lifted hands to Him and songs of praise. Praise Him!
