Sweet Unity!

Psalm 133:1-3

"Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!" (Psalm 133:1). You know, there really is nothing like having harmony. But the unfortunate thing is, more often than not, unity seems to be in short supply. (What's the deal with that do you think?)

So how are you fostering and contributing to a spirit of unity in your family? In your church? At your work place? Tami W.

I am led to believe this verse is speaking about those in Christ. We should get along with our saved brothers and sisters. On fact other scripture tells us to get along with all people as much as its up to us. This is a hard saying when people curse our Lord and do not believe. This divides families and friends. But this is what we must do...get along !!

You know I have to say, it can be frustrating in any situation when the other person is not listening or willing to do something about making things better. Any advise??:)

Being careful of what comes out of our mouth goes along way. Talking without thinking sure can cause trouble.....

Making friends comes easily and naturally to me so I pray for everyone equally and hope the Lord comes into our lives to bring us together in His way.

Our church has small groups and Bible Studies. We really all get along. I agree with Jon about being careful what comes out of our mouths. If we wait and rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us in what to say, out words are kinder. If we're dealing with non-Christians we can still pray for them. Returning unkind words for their unkind words will not help. Praying does!! We don't know their situation but God does. There may be reasons for them lashing out that have nothing to do with us. I am and I think all of us are still thinking of ourselves more than of others. When we desire to become more Christ like and have an attitude of serving others-I would guess that most situations would improve.

Thank you, Trisha for your comment, it was very helpful.

That is What Gods Word is for. The Proverbs are for that!We need to be doers of the Word, and PRAY PRAY PRAY for us to be like Jesus!
