Proverbs 24:1-22
Two verses, Proverbs 24:3 and 4, just grabbed me today about wisdom. What a word picture they provided because everyone is familiar with a house and having rooms in it. I thought about my home and came up with this. First, it's really the core, the center, of my family and life. It's where my husband and I spend the majority of our time; it's where we rest, where we build our relationship; and the things we love and cherish are kept (or live) there. As I thought about this house analogy, I ended up asking myself this: If my earthly house is important to me, how much more should I be concerned with building and maintaining my "spiritual house"?
So what did verses 3 and 4 reveal to you about wisdom and your "spiritual house"? Anything else in Proverbs 24 grab your attention today? Tami W.

It let's me know that by reading the scriptures, I am building a fortress in my mind and heart, and by studying them faithfully, I am filled with the riches of understanding. This will give me strength and the ability to overcome adversity, as we see in the following verses. Verses 15 and 16 tell me not to try and use my mind to evil ends towards another, for they can be brought down, and bounce back up, by my wicked actions can cause me to go down for the count, as it where. For me, it's kind of like an analogy of a prize fighter, train hard, and build your body (spirit). Fight clean, and you will be the victor. Do not succumb to cockiness or engage in dirty fighting or in the end, it will be your ruin.
It lets me know that I need to do more about taking better care of my spiritual house, and not becoming spiritually dry so that satan can come in and take over.
verses 3 and 4 to me is speaking of my body as the spiritual house.Which when its kept clean by the words of the scriptures it makes me become stronger.as it is said in(isa.26 v3-4)so our spiritual house is really our body.
What really grabbed me was the last verse which stated not to join with those who do not fear the Lord. How many people do we meet who say they are God fearing but do not really have respect for the Lord or follow His ways? The verse speaking of their destruction tells me alot about what they could do to someone's spiritual house.
Verses 17 & 18 really hit home. Do not be happy when your enemy falls or even stumbles, lest the Lord's anger be removed from him(them). We are further commanded to love and pray for our enemies, and to forgive those who abuse us for the Lord's sake.
