So Good. So Loving.

Psalm 147:1-20

God is good! is what came to my mind as I read Psalm 147. This passage tells us so much about God and His goodness and greatness. When you think about it, it's pretty incredible how God, who "determines the number of the stars" and names them (vs. 4) and who is "abundant in power" and whose understanding is beyond measure (vs. 5) loves, cares and provides for each and every one of us. What a privilege to be a child of God!

So think about your relationship with God--not just right now, but also in the past. Why is it "good" and "fitting" for you to sing praises to God (vs. 1)? Tami W.

I believe it is good to sing praises to God b/c it is good and fitting with the character of God

Why is it good and fitting for me to sing praises to God? I think of my "checkered" past, and am so grateful that after all the sins I had/have committed, he still reached out for me one morning when I hit bottom about two years ago. He offered His mercy and grace to someone like me, who so richly did not deserve it. And I think of all the times I could have had my life ended (dangerous things that I did) and He watched over me and protected me even then from my path heading to Hell. I was saved from the fate that I so richly deserved.
Our God is so merciful, so filled with grace, so loving--and He has been so good to me, and taken care of me. I could sing praises all day, and never even approach the amount that He deserves.
Thank you, Jesus, for your gift to all of us that changed our world forever!!!

its 'good' and 'fitting' to sing praises to God because he sends his only son to die as a ransom for all of us.who on earth would ever do something like this? i know certainly not me! and i know without a shadow of a doubt there are others who share the same here with me.This is what makes him God all my himself! so he deserves all praises.what God has done for me in my past im thankful unto him,i have gotton Salvation free of cost!there is so much to thank him for all i can say is 'praises' and songs' unto my God from me is IFINITE!

Oh yes, HE is GOOD! Because HE brought me a mighty long way & I'm ever so grateful always! I PRAISE HIM constantly!

One word which stood out to me from this psalm was "brokenhearted". So often I do not spare a thought for those people who are on the outer; who are suffering; who are without love or shelter; who are depressed and downcast. But I do know that God cares and loves the "brokenhearted" even if i forget about them often. Thank you Father that you sent your only begotten Son to walk among us and enter human history as the second member of the Trinity. Thank you Jesus that you can associate with our every weakness; every tear; every pain; every fear; every worry; every emotion. Thank you Jesus that you experienced the height, breadth, length and depth of what it means to be a human. Thank you Jesus that you are the embodiment of what it means to be human, for you lived a life without sin. Thank you Jesus that you can associate with the "brokenhearted" of this world as you yourself suffered a literal broken heart on the cross when they pierced your side and when all the sins of the world were on you. Thank you Jesus that you were raised to new life by the power of the Holy Spirit and thank you that you are alive. Amen
