Just Plain...Ordinary

Judges 3:12-31

Our first three judges, Othniel, Ehud and Shamgar, got me thinking about being used by God. Now what's written about each of these men shows me a number of things: they listened to God, they moved when He called them to action, and they trusted God to go before them. But what's not written down is also telling. Did you notice how there's no mention of things like success, popularity, exceptional mental or physical abilities? That tells me that God uses ordinary people. Hmm...I like that because that means you and I are capable of doing amazing things for God too.

So what did you learn from our first three judges? What are some ways "ordinary" you can be used by God right now? Tami W.

I tell you, the lord is just amazing. I myself wonder sometimes why would the lord use someone like me. But these men all had the most important attribute, a heart that was yeilded to the Lord. They did what he asked and he gave them supernatural abilities. It's funny how the bible pointed out that he was a left-handed man( a handicap in some peoples eyes). My prayer today is that we as children of the Lord will be yeilded to him. May we be open to what he will ask us to do and trust that he will equip us with to tools that are necessary for the mission.
N.B When he uses people like that, he gets the glory and not man and their abilities and talent.Praises to Jesus for his grace and mercy.

Just be faithful to God's Word...‎...our words carry weight when our actions align with Almighty God’s expectations. Righteous living produces more spiritual fruit than we are capable of seeing or comprehending. If we're living right, then even casual, seemingly insignificant conversation can be used to His glory.

In this days we see war, and we see so many people killed in wars. How could we know if god is not on their side, just like in the old days he was on the side of the israelites. Now, where will the 10 commandments will be regarding killing people? why would god help people that kill? then again, is god in favor of war? is he in favor of killing? is he on the side of some of his sons when two groups ar at war just like in the old days he was on the side of the israelites, but not on the side of their enemies?

Answers will be appreciated.

Happy free thoughts...

I like how this passage points out that God uses all types of people. It can be discouraging when some Christians don't feel that God is using them just because they have an ordinary job and are not in the 'ministry' per say. God plants us and gives us opportunity to do his will. It would be even more discouraging if we had a world full of 'preachers' and no one to preach to.

I am so grateful for Bott Radio Network and all of the great speakers that we have now, including this blog for communicating to with 'ordinary' people. God doesn't make mistakes when he perfectly and fearfully makes us. I am trying to count my blessings.
