Jude 5-7

For me, there was one central message in our three verses today--that there's nothing more important than believing in and following the Lord.

Take a couple of minutes and think through that message--that there is nothing more important than believing in and following the Lord. What are some ways you demonstrate this to your family? Friends? Co-workers? Strangers? Tami W.

To my family - By trying to be diligent in my devotional life and try to exercise the aspects of the fruit of spirit that they know I struggle with (like patience).

At work - To give it my best shot. To operate in a context of integrity, commitment and justice.

Friends - By serving them as much as and as best as I can.

One of the best ways for me to show others the importance of God is that Christian gatherings take priority over other options. Time spent in God's Word, like with Powered by 4, is something God will smile upon and encourage us through.

With so much homosexuality in the world today, it is difficult to show 'God's love' to the persons involved and know how to explain how much God hates the life choice. A person's intentions are so easily misunderstood and 'twisted' by Satan. There seem to be so many people who only want to believe in a 'good God' who would never punish evil. Jude reminds us differently.

firsstrent let me apologise for my absence for the few days. but thanks be to god our father am ok now i did miss you guys.in the scripture of the book of jude the central message is the importance of believin in god.how i would demonstrate it to others is by tellin them how and the importance of reading god,s word an stayin in it. the script. that stands out most in my mind is(isaiah 26 v 3) when we stay focus on god he will strenghten us both in faith an peace.also when we read god,s word we can pass it on to someone else.within my family the life that i am livin for god would be an example for them to follow.my friends the same also my co-workers.but its all about the word as he has said in (psalms 119 v 105 an v 133)

Verse 3 says the Word is "once for all delivered to the saints" do we really believe that? There are curses and judgments spoken of in verses 5-11. verse 5 judgement for a lack of faith in God in the face of His working miracles, complaining, being unthankful -sometimes I am guilty of this. Verse 6 leaving posts of responsibility as set by God brought judgement to angels -Am I aways 100 % at my post of responsibilty, No! verse 7 talks about not just homosexual activity but also immorality bringing judgement on whole cities -look at the high teen pregnancy rate IN THE CHURCH.
It is only by God's mercies we are not consumed already! The curses of God are still in place today and the wrath of a Holy God is a surety if we do not do more than just talk about and believe His Word. May God help us as parents, as leaders, as individuals if we do not live right, teach right, pray right, discipline right in this present time.

Believing in and following my Savior is what I pray others see as they observe my life. Relying on His Grace and Mercy for each day and only by His divine power can I walk this walk. So each day I seek not to be conformed to this world but rather to let His word renew my mind and that I may be transformed into His likeness. I believe and follow Jesus absolutely, but still a work in progress.

This passage is a warning to heed the call, not a condemnation of those who don't live "good enough." Remember everyone, we can not live good enough for God. We are all filthy sinners who needs a saviour, Jesus Christ, to be that intermediary between us and God. Jude 5-7 is just a reminder and a warning to not ignore what you know to be true. You must not only believe the truth, but accept it and trust in the work of Jesus Christ, and that it is finished. It is surely enough the sin debt Jesus paid on the cross. We now live free from the bondage of sin to submit to the call of Christ.
