Suit Up!

Ephesians 6:10-24

The armor of God is such a great passage. I find it encouraging but also a little scary at the same time. It's encouraging because we're told point blank that when we put on the armor provided by God, we can "stand firm" (Eph. 6:13) against Satan and evil forces. So what's the scary part? Well, it's the reality that we are, in fact, facing and wrestling against spiritual forces of evil.

So what's your suit of armor look like? Is it complete? Well taken care of? In need of repair? As we get dressed with our normal clothes each morning, how can we make sure we're also suiting up with our armor? Tami W.

"pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel"
This is my prayer also. I have trouble talking to people about the Gospel, and this is the answer, to pray for utterance then open my mouth and start.

the beggining of thi scriputre is very intresting it states that we should be firm in the Lord and in his strendht sometimes as human beings we get carried away and think that we can do everything by ourselves we surely need God if we are to succed in this like what zerubabel is told in zechariah its not by power nor by might but its by the power of that we can overcome the victory will always come when we realise we can never do it by ourselves and this again i s a scripture which helps me to understand that the life we live as a constant battle with the devil but in this battle if not well equiped we are doomed to fail its just like a soldier going to battle without his gun it admonishes us that as christians we should we walk in faith and pray at all times and most importantly look up to God for strengh

Hello everyone. This important scripture passage is our ticket to victory in our daily walk. I think that I do not keep this scripture in focus enough to keep it alive daily, and have decided after writing it out on my clipboard, to work on memorizing it. My intent will be to read it in the am daily. I currrently read one promise a day from His Word and have found this is a postive habit I`ve incorporated in my schedule.

Thank you for your thoughts! As I am finding it hard to have quiet time in the morning to meditate on God's word, I loved your suggestion to think when we dress.

Now every morning as I get dressed I will start my meditation with putting on my armor of God. Here are the afirmations I will use as I dress.

Belt- I wear a belt of truth and will have integrity to God's Word.
Shirt - I wear a breastplate of righteousness by which I can detour all evil.
Shoes- I wear shoes that walk on Christ's gospel of peace.
Hair- I am blessed with a helmet of salvation, which is grace & total acceptance from God.
Acessories -I will wear the sword of the spirit and be blessed through reading the Word of God.
Lipstick- I will proclaim the gospel through my kind words and actions.

Thank you again. I am excited to start my day with this. It reminds me of where my state of mind should be before I head into work.

this is just something which i just got why paul admonishes to put up the whole armour of God is because you can never fight the devil face to face unless you are equiped and equiped with the word i have in this walk with christ as christians we are tempted heavily but we have to use the word because will power will not get us any i have succumbed to the sin of pornography every time i would tell myself this is not goood for you you have to stop well all the times i would tell myself that i failed and would even promise God this is the last time but well i can what is impossible with our God i realised that the wanted me to enter inti battle without my armour and i can tell you may want to resist the but without the word of God it is immpossible to overcome him but with as stated in hebrews its a double edged sword and how to put the devil in his own shoes is to use scripture like what i have been doing each morning by declaring im more than a conquerer greater who is in me than he who is in the world and our lod Jesus christ is the perfect example he showed us nothing is impossible with God if we call upon and remaain deeply rooted in the world that is how he overcame with the devil and with that realisation that Jesus was tested beyond anything i have experienced and with the Knowledge that i can do all things thru christ who strenghtens its a great relief realising who you and not play the role of the pharisees and play a holier than thou but tuo truly realise your weakenes as an indvidual and show the devil that if he thot you were in his clutches he was wrong you are a child ofthe most and with him we can overcome so surely we have to suit up

Holy Armour
Put on God's Holy armour
When battles rage within your soul
The helmet of salvation
Will keep your spirit whole
Rightousness, your breastplate
To protect your heart from sin
Gird your loins with truth
Don't let the enemy in
Hold tight the shield of faith
And never let it go
The mighty sword, which is God's word
Will lay the enemy low
Now shod your feet with readiness
To spread the gospel wide
And in those times of wearniness
'Neath the Father's wings we hide
The victory is already ours
Jesus conquered all for us
His Spirit longs to mend our wounds
If we will just but trust. (Eph.6:11)

I agree with Elise..getting dressed each day with the thoughts of putting on the armor of God is a great idea!

The battles we face as believers can be sometimes overwhelming but don't be weary, the Lord has given us all that we need. All glory to him..

Seeing this is important to me right now. I'm suffering the consequences of trying to do things my way. God is really drawing me to rely on Him. It's scary, like standing on the very edge of a cliff, but it is necessary. The Lord truly is my only hope in this life.
