Psalm 113:1-9
Praise the Lord is the big call to action in Psalm 113. The psalmist takes the first three verses giving us that call and then spends the final six verses of the passage giving us reasons for our praise.
So I thought it would be fun to answer the call to praise today and I'm hoping you'll join me. Consider the statement below and fill in the blank with something specific to your life.
I praise the Lord because _______________.
I thought I'd start us off with a couple of my praise items: 1) I praise the Lord because He loves me even in those times I don't act very loving to Him. 2) I praise the Lord because He has allowed me to use my love of music and singing outside of my full time job with Back to the Bible. I praise the Lord for loving me. I praise the Lord for giving me and my family shelter while my husband is looking for work. I praise the Lord for my family and friends. I praise the Lord for not giving up on me.
I think the spirit GOD put in me and you (the Holy Spirit) is what causes us to praise and worship HIM. I praise HIM for HIS forgiveness, HIS lovingkindness, HIS mercy, ... , this list could become quite long so I'll just conclude with I love HIM because HE loved me first, HE saved me. I worship and praise HIM because HE is worthy. HE has blessed me with an attitude of gratitude. I am thankful for family, friends, health. All I have to do is watch the news to see how fortunate I truly am. Thank you LORD! You are the one and only true living GOD, I love you! I love you all too!
The Spirit within me praises the Lord. I am a partaker that participates with tears of joy at the righteousness and truthfulness of GOD. I wish for a continuous praise within me, For this I long as I grow in faith.
"Who is like the Lord our God?" No one! I think that is why I pursue HIM. I want to be like HIM! Loving, kind, helpful, a friend to those in need (e.g. the good Samaritan) I believe that hose are some of the ways the door of the heart can be opened to receive the gospel, like tilling the ground to be ready to receive the seed (the Word of GOD, which is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart; Which GOD said is: deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?) Hebrews 4:12 & Jeremiah 17:9, read v.10 to get the answer.
He is not who He is because I give Him the credit, but because He is God regardless of me. How wonderful it is to have the privilege of praising so great a God!!!!!
I praise the Lord because He first loved me - even when I didn't know Him he was there for me. I praise the Lord because he has kept my family together through tough times, deaf of loved ones, lost of job, strike, pastor heart attack & recovery - He is continually making a way, even though it may not be the way I think things should go, He is continually showing up and reminding us that He is Our God!
Even though I have cancer, Multiple Myeloma, I have so much to be
thankful for. In my life, being thankful also means to praise his
Holy name. I think that being thankful and praise go hand in hand.
I really like the song Life of Praise by Casting Crowns. It says in one of the stanzas that loving and praising God is not because of what He has done for us but for the simple reason that He is holy and He is worthy of our praise. And indeed, it is true. I praise God because of who He is and not just because of what He has done for me. And as what I always say to Him, in every circumstance, good or bad, I will praise Him. Blessed day everyone!
Praise God for not leaving me as an orphan! He heard my cries for deliverance from a bad computer habit. He has enabled me to understand that it was taking too much my time. He wanted me to delete it off my computer (I know this through the gentil, yet firm conviction that I was feeling) Praise His Holy, Compassionate, Omniscient Name! Thank you. Jesus!
I praise the Lord because He is my Creator. I praise Him because He loves me so much that even though I am a sinner He cares for and protects and guides me. I praise Him because He died and shed His blood on the cross at Calvary that I can have salvation. I praise my Lord because He is God, the only God.
I praise God for using radio, and the internet to reach millions of people daily; of which I am one.
I praise the Lord because He has allowed me the privilege of being a missionary to the Baltic country of Latvia! We are seeing people come to know the Lord by building relationships with them, earning their trust and sharing the Gospel. One soul at a time....
I praise the Lord for the recent ministry He has given my husband and I. He is now senior pastor of a small church, as opposed to being a student pastor. We like it much better, not because of the position, but for the type of minsitry. I praise the Lord because so far, I have been able to be involved in counseling, which I have always wanted to do. I also teach Sunday School for teens and participate actively in the drama/dance team. I praise the Lord for allowing me to go back to ballet lessons after so many years. I praise the Lord for so many things!
this scripture to me shows Gods power in our lives and to me it shows me that the weaker we are the more we need to lean on God and the more we lean on God the more we discover Gods strength in our lives
Thank God for your spirtal leader ship
I praise the lord because he gave me peace in stormy times.
I praise the Lord because He has blessed me with a wonderful, loving husband for almost 30 yrs. I love the verse that sais 'He grants the barren woman a home'. We never had children, but He has put in my heart a desire to try & connect with one of the teens at church.
I praise the Lord because He is my righteousness. Thru Him, I can do all things. He will never leave me, nor forsake me. When things get rough, I don' t have to crumble and give up. I know God will see me thru!
I praise the Lord for sparing my life. He has allowed me to see a brand new day. I praise Him because i could have died in my sleep, or in an accident or from an illness.
I praise the Lord for opening my eyes to see how sinful I was and showing me my need for Jesus. I was so self righteous and thought the way was Jesus + my works. I didn't have any assurance of salvation until I surrendered completely to Him acknowledging that I could not be good enough and accepted that what He did on the cross was enough! I continue to grow in grace; He shows me that performance is not what He is after but a loving relationship with me. He wants my absolute trust! I praise Him because He is totally trustworthy. "It is finished!" His work on Calvary is enough. I praise Him for lifting me out of the pit of self hatred and depression. I praise Him for the very breath I breathe each moment. I praise Him for the Hope He gives me in a hopeless dying world. He is our redeemer. He is the restorer of the breach. He is the author and finisher of our faith, praise His Holy Name!!!!!!!!!
