Stark Contrast

Titus 1:1-3; John 8:38-47

I love it when Scripture is absolutely clear, and that's the case with both of our passages today. Jesus is speaking in John 8:38-47, and he boldly and clearly tells us that Satan is a liar and has nothing to do with the truth (vs. 44). Then referring to Himself, the son of God, Jesus says "I tell the truth. . ." (vs. 45). Paul words in Titus 1:2 likewise tell us that God never lies.

So what did John 8:38-47 show you about Satan versus God? What did you learn from John 8:38-47 and Titus 1:1-3 about God's character and trusting Him? How will you use these verses to boost your trust factor? Tami W.

Paul states that God can't lie it's against his nature...

And with Satan it is hie nature to lie about everything & everyone.

God won't lie to me but I think I have to ask the right questions.

I remember here some years ago that I allowed Satan to really get to me and I was in such depression and despair. I got to where I believed the lie that Satan was telling me about God, that God did not love me and he was attacking me. That God was allowing all these things to come against me. So, one day I came to the point were I thought that I could not take anymore and I cried out to God in anger. I vented all of the anger that was bottled up inside me and told God that He could not love me, because he had allowed all these things to happen to me from the time I was a little girl to then. But, God told me the truth that day and my life has never been the same.

I remember so well what He told me that He was not the one who is against me, but that He was always there with me He showed me that when I was going through things there was always someone that He placed in my life to help me. When I was being abused it was the Sunday school bus driver and his wife who took me into their lives. And the neighbor and his wife that I could run to when I was in need or the teacher that took a special interest in me. When it was cancer it was the nurse at the hospital that came into my room late one night and took me to wash what was left of my hair and my mother-in-law that took me and my husband and new born in until I could care for them on my own.

Every time that I have gone through something God has given me someone. Whether it was the death of my son, or the cancer, or the abuse, or the depression that was taking my life. He has shown me that I have a treasure box of jewels-special people—when Satan told me that I had nothing.

I am so thankful that I now know the truth and have been set free from the lies. My treasure box is growing all the time and I enjoy looking at the jewels that are have been given and are being placed there all the time. God promises that He will never leave nor forsake us. Hebrew 13:5

what i have noticed in my life as an individual is that no matter what we face no matter what we go through God is always on our side the going might be tough but during those moments in life is when we have to show our commitment to our father up in heaven because he knows the beginning from the ending what seems to us as a setback is a set for God to thrust us forward but the true essence is understanding who we are and whose we are we are the children of the most high God no matter we face God has always something in stock Jesus when he faced the burden of the he was not at all moved by what he faced becoz he new his destiny and he knew who he was the question to ask yourself is where do you stand as christian what kind of seed are you are you the one which fell on the path,or the one which fell on good ground or on the rocky path what we have to know is that if God brought you to it then he shall certainly bring you through it

I know that Satan is the father of lies and the author of confusion. He is always attacking me, by suggesting that God is taking out his anger on me. But I, and you, must resist such thoughts by placing scripture, such as Titus, in our hearts and remembering them. Then, and only then will Satan flee from us.
