Pure Children

1 John 3:1-3

A couple of big things to consider in our three short verses today. First, the whole concept of being a child of God right now and in the future. And, second, as a child of God, keeping ourselves pure because God is absolutely 100% pure.

So what does it mean to you to be a child of God right now, in the present? How does being a child of God motivate you to be and stay pure? And lastly, what are some things you do that help you stay pure? Tami W.

To help me stay pure, I really am careful of what I watch on TV, movies etc. I have an example to set for my kids. The Bible is really helpful also. I like to soak in God's Word daily. If you think about it, we need to ask all of ourselves, what are we soaking in, on a daily basis?? Is it pleasing to God, and if not remove it from your life. Everybody have a wonderful day.

Thank you for making purity a focus this week, it has helped me in so many struggles. I heard the analogy before about our impure thoughts to a bird landing on your head. You might not be able to control it coming at you, but you CAN stop it from making a nest there. I like to "shut the door" in my mind on any impure thoughts and pray and ask God for help. Also, I really liked your comment about TV... there were some shows on TV that I really enjoyed but I have had to take a step back and say, is this something God wants me to look at? We think it won't affect us, but as you (anonymous) said, we will soak it in. Have a great weekend!

Tami, I really want to live a life that is pleasing to my Lord. I have been rather vain and proud for the most of my life. However, in the last 3 years I've had surgeries for 4 basal cell carcinomas on my nose. As a result there is scaring. I want to be able to praise the Lord for all that, because through it all I've learned to be thankful. I still have a nose, praise the Lord, and I've seen people whose entire nose had to be removed. As I study the Word I want everything removed from my life that would make me less pleasing to Him. I want to be pure in spirit and body.

purity wow thats an amazing topic truthfully speaking it gives you time as a believer to reflect on your life what you have been doing has it been right or wrong in the sight of God
