Habakkuk 1:1-2:3
I don't think I'm alone when I say that I want to be "in the know." I want to know and understand what's going on, why and for what purpose when it comes to things that impact and affect my life. So sometimes, when things are happening that don't make sense and aren't to my liking, I get frustrated. That's kind of the sense I get with Habakkuk in Habakkuk 1:1-2:3. Bad things are happening and he doesn't understand why. So he presents his frustrations to the Lord. Well, God listens and then He pretty plainly lets Habakkuk know that He has a plan, He's in control, that we're not privy to His plan and timetable and this is all by His design. Basically God tells Habakkuk to chill out and trust Him.
So how can we come to grips with the fact that we're not supposed to know every little thing? How do we work on being content with God's plan and timetable regardless of what that means for us? Tami W.

GOD cares for us much more than the sparrows & feeds them but HE doesn't bring the worm to the branch. They must seek it out, passionatley to find HIS favor.
Its actually comforting that we dont know every little thing, we know the One who does though. And as we saw in yesterdays scriptures, God does not lie, so keep ourselves focused on Him and His Word because in Him we have truth no matter what. And if things arent happening as fast as we think, thats ok also if we know The One Who knows it all. He'll keep us, if we keep our eyes on Him.We have to stay in the Word.
we have also to remember Isaiah 55 verse 8 where He says His ways and His thoughts are higher than ours His plans for us dont always match the plans we have for ourselves either
What I see in this verse is for us to CONTINUE to PRAY to God, and to CONTINUE to RELY on God.
The Lord's timetable is beyond our understanding, instead of trying in vain to understand we need to learn to trust in him.
"Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35
It is amazing that this was the Word for today. As I was driving into work I kept hearing the words "Be still and know that I am God."
I kept hearing those words because I saw an old friend on Sunday at church who I hadn't seen in some time. She knew me when I was single and used to pray and wish for a husband so that I could have a family. We laughed about it as here I was, holding my 4 month baby boy in my arms and my husband was holding our 2 year old daughter. Back then I was frustrated and wanted to be "in the know". It is sooo amazing how God's timing truly is the best timing and if we just learn to "be still and know that I am God" God will certainly reveal His perfect plan in due season. Today is my 3rd wedding anniversary and I am sooo reminded of His Word today.
I can so relate to Habakkuk. In my personal life somethings are so vague and unclear - in such situations I have to constantly pray and ask God for direction from the Holy Spirit, because I always want to know why I am doing something and the ultimate goal of it - but that is not always clear. And sometimes I realize its is for my best that I am unaware of the outcome. Thank you God for revealing and giving me just what I need today. You are an amazing God!
one thing i have come tounderstand in my life is that i dont have to understand Gods plan for my life all i have to do is to surrender everything all to him and put my trust in him because God chooses what we go through but us as believer have to choose how we go through it and when all seems dark in our lives all we have to do is to PUSH(PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS)
It's hard! A year ago, we were a month into my husband losing his job, we have 2 kids and I am a stay-at-home mom. In the last year, God has Blessed us and taken great care of all of our needs! It's not been pretty, and I always prefer to know what is coming our way. But I am learning to trust more, to lean on Him more and give Him the glory He is due! I also remember the verse that God will use all things to His glory. All things, even things that don't look so great right now!
This message really reminds me.
I'm encouraged to stop complaining and do the best for Him.
I have a comment. I would like some advise if I could please.
I think of Tina and talking about her life with her husband and God. What if you had not walked with Christ for most part of your marriage, and God opens your eyes to Him. Your spouse is struggling with the new you.
Hope you had a very happy 3rd anniversary, Tina! What a great time to celebrate all God has done in your life.

If the believing spouse is the wife, First Peter 3:1 makes plain that submission is still the will of God: "Wives, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives. When there are differences she can try to explain in a tranquil and gentle spirit that it is not because she wants to go against him, but because she is bound to Christ. Yet it will do no good to preach at him. At the root of his being, there may be guilt that he is not assuming the moral leadership of his house. She must give him room and win him in quietness by her powerful and sacrificial love (1 Pet. 3:1 6). Most of all, she will persevere in prayer for him.
If the believing spouse is the husband, Ephesians 5:25, 28-29, 33, all stress that his genuine, sacrificial love for his wife is the overarching characteristic that will win her respect and honor, both for him and for the Lord. He, too, will pray earnestly for her.
Hope this helps to answer your question.

I guess God must be really telling me someting. Despite the fact that we all knw that God is in control and he has a reason for everything therefore we dont need to know. It is very hard, sometimes it almost seems impossible. I guess i.m struggling with trust at this point of my life. (sigh)
Anonoymous,
Yes it can be hard to trust God. Yes we are not going to know everything. That is where TRUST comes in. We need to trust and KNOW He is GOD. I will be praying for you. Just take it ONE step at a time. Pray and ASK God to help you to trust Him, He will. Be in God's Word daily and pray daily and He WILL show you!!
I am asking for prayer
