Ephesians 4:17-32

Paul takes a look at two ways of living in Ephesians 4:17-32. First he describes the ungodly life before we have a relationship with Christ (old self), and then he shifts to what "new life" in Christ looks like (new self). I liked the approach Paul used in this passage. It was thought-provoking and helpful. By reading and considering the examples provided of both ungodly and godly living, we can get a pretty comprehensive picture of what our new self and new life ought to look like.

What did you learn about old self and new life from Paul? What evidence do you see in yourself of a new life as a new self? Tami W.

what a wonderful passage--very eye opening. I took a good look at my attitudes and saw that I still struggle with many of the wrong attitides. I know that I am much better than I was even just a year ago, but I see that these bad traits still like to raise their ugly head.
But, as I look at this passage I see that I have to take an active part in my walk with Christ, everyday, and chose to walk in righteousness, with love, truthfulness, compassion, forgiveness, and uplifting attitude toward others and myself.

I am not were I should be but I choose to press forward to what God has planned for me to be.

Thank you so much!

I know it's not right to say"Thank goodness I'm not like those people"but this verse kind of says that is how you need to look at it.Just like yesterdays verse it is reminding us of what our "clean dish" should look like and giving us a check list to make sure.My new self is ever changing and improving. This also gives me a check list of some of things I have overcome, the miles stones of the pass I will never return to.

Once a child of God, always a child of God. I do believe we have to remind ourselves daily that we are made new in Christ. I tend to forget and allow my old self top pop up every once in a while, but God always reminds me and brings me back to the truth. Grace is a wonderful thing. :)

Today's verses really remind me (as well as the radio program this morning) that my biggest battle is my MIND (verse 23). I need to become a new person not on the outside, but the inside. I am constantly tempted with impure thoughts. I have been asking God recently to help me with this and remind me when I go astray. I have been amazed at Him answering this prayer!

This passage is calling us to Christian action. We who have heard (learned) must now become doers. Put off, put away, put on, Paul proclaims. So each day I need to put on the armor of God to protect the new self (v 24).
