Psalm 111:1-10
One thing is clear from Psalm 111--the Lord is to be praised. This is such a great Psalm because that message of praise is the first thing we read. And then, just in case we missed it, the rest of the chapter pretty much lays out reason after reason why we should be thankful and praising.
Now I use the ESV for P4 and verse 2 says "Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them." But I also read the NLT today which talked about pondering the works of the Lord. It made me realize that although I study the works of the Lord in the Bible, I don't necessarily do a lot of studying or pondering of the great things the Lord has done in my life. So I took some time and I pondered, I thanked and I praised.
So take a few minutes today and think about (ponder) some the great things the Lord has done for you (And they don't have to be big, life-changing events) and send up some praise to the Lord. Then, would you tell us about one or two of the great things you praised the Lord for? Tami W.

I have a busy life...as I am sure everyone does! I have two small children, I work, my husband works 12 hour shifts, and I am going back to school in August...what in the world am I thinking, right?? Tami, thanks so much for these verses today and the emphasis you put on pondering the Word. With are crazy, busy, hectic lives it is so easy to focus on our trials, but so important to ponder are blessings! My blessings are endless..I love my job, my husband has a great job, my children are happy and healthy, and my marriage is strong! Praise be to God for his endless blessings in my life!
Hi Tami, I was prepping my heart for worship today before service and came across your devotional. Although I cannot name all of the great things God has done for me, I'd like to share a few that have happened recently. In late May I experienced some car trouble when I was out of town with a friend. Some timing for it to happen, but she was with me and recommending a local place to get my new car part after it had been diagnosed. At the time I did not have a job but had some left over money from the last place of employment I was at but realized that if I made the purchased for the car part, I'd be pretty broke. Broken-hearted over the situation, I decided to call the local car part salvage place and get estimates for my model vehicle. I placed the order and awaited the phone call letting me know my part was in and ready to be sent to a car repair shop. My mother kept insisting after about three days to call the place and just inquire if they had received it yet. The gentleman assisting me the entire time was extremely helpful, patient and nice, especially because at times I had to call repeatedly to ask questions.:) Well, wouldn't you know he found the same car part for my model for the same price but at a significantly lower mileage than the original one I had ordered!? He went ahead and order that one instead!:) God also guided me away from a man I had found to fix my car only to have him be very deceitful and doddle over the repair for a discounted price. I felt the Lord saying "Enough is enough!" I didn't want this repair man to destroy or retailiate so I tried to be meek and mild about the repair but ended up finding someone else to fix my car and do it in one day instead of taking a week! I have been so blessed by this entire experience! And wouldn't you know it throughout this entire ordeal, I ended up finding a small, part-time job with a local university here in my town. God works wodnerfully and I hope this story inspires someone's heart today. Thank you for your devotional today. I believe it is important to always take time to remember what He has done in our lives and never part from it. I know all too often we can get prideful and forget and say we did it ourselves, but it is important to stay humble and in rememberance of how limited we are and how unlimited God is. I hope your week and holiday is blessed, everyone!
God is faithful from the smallest things to the biggest things. Whatever it is I struggle with and then when I remember I leave it to God and wondered while I even worried about it. God is in control and I know that. We are very blessed with 4 grown up children and 9 healthy grandkids. I retired from a job that I wouldn't have had if it wasn't for God. As I climbed up the ladder it was him, I didn't realize at the time but as I look back I know that it was him. I got my last promotion with no interview when everyone else got one. I passed the test the first time when no one else did. Tell me that wasn't my God. He has been with me all my life and I realize it now. Have a blessed weekend and be safe.
