Matthew 10:16-25
Jesus tells his followers that they need to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves as they go about living the Christian life and spreading the gospel message. He tells them this to prepare them for the opposition and persecution they will undoubtedly encounter. Jesus' words also apply to us, modern day Christ-followers.
So what does being wise as serpents and innocent as doves mean to you? How will/can you accomplish this goal? Tami W.

Know God's word to help protect you and to renew your mind and don't give people any reason to point their finger back at you because of your actions.
Wise as a serpent to me means that we are to be aware of what is going on around us, so we not to be gullible -- to seek God's wisdom as we go about our dealings while adopting the genleness as a dove -- not be be abrasive.
I know each day that I will be heading out into the mission field with the chance that I may have a battle to overcome. I make myself prepared by reading my bible, reading this blog, and praying. Knowledge is power....with The Word in my heart and mind, I can defeat the serpent in his own game without being harsh to him.
