For Us!

Romans 8:18-39

Every time I read Romans 8:31-39 I get pumped up, recharged, energized, jazzed...you get my drift. Why? Well, there are just days when I operate based on what I'm experiencing or feeling, which is never a good thing. That happens because I've allowed my focus to be more on me than on God. :( I had one of those days just this week. So reading "If God is for us, who can be against us?" and then Paul's final and absolute proclamation that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord! was exactly what I needed to hear.

I'm guessing I'm not alone in this area? So how can we do a better job of keeping the message that God is for us and nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus at the forefront as we tackle each day? Tami W.

The gift of the Holy Spirit in the times of the apostles was very obvious ie. the ground shaking; the people feeling a physical change. How or why is it different today? I have been told;I now as a Christian have this power within and it was not as dramatically received as in the early days. Now I have seen very charismatic people have physical and emotional effects upon being told they now are blessed with the Spirit but that appears to be more indicative of their personalities. How does one know that this Spirit is within. I am not sure I feel any different now or prior to being a Christian which leads me to asking; is the receiving of the Holy Spirit a feeling? What does one look for to assess that the Spirit is "working within you"?

Thank You David G.

Once we have dedicated our lives fully on to God we can be assured that the lord will be there with us all the way the enemy will rise up against us but they will not prevail, so we can rest in his promises and know that he is with us all the way.

God said he is for us and thats exactly what he means. if we live for him walk in his ways and his precept, obey his voice, live according to his word, then nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God it doesn't matter how things might look to us our life is in his hand and that is inseparable.

David, I have someone in my life that askes those same questions. I was saved August 2, 2010. At first I thought there was not going to be anything different. Just from my own experience, you have to be willing to let your faith lead you. I asked Jesus into my heart and I know that the "Spirit is working with in" because I openned my heart and asked him to dwell with in my heart and I gave everything that was going on in my life over to him. It is all out of my hands now. I no longer feel the burdens that weighted on my heart like they did. I get up with a more positive outlook in such a heartbreaking society. I allow him to guide me to the places where I will be helpful, places I can bring his presence. I don't want to say receiving the Spirit is necessarily a "feeling" it is more a "knowing and accepting". You know that you asked him into your heart and you accepted his everlasting love. That is simply how you know. He will always be there, just place your faith in him and allow him the opportunity to guide you. God Bless you
