World Warnings

1 John 2:15-29

We get a number of warnings about the world from 1 John 2:15-29. John tells us straight up that we are not to love the world or the things in the world. He also warns us about being influenced and led astray by worldly people and thinking. Now right along with these warnings, John lets us know that we aren't fighting this battle alone. We have the means to deal with the world and its temptations because we have the Holy Spirit living in us.

So what did 1 John 2:15-29 show you about how the Holy Spirit lives and works in us? What did you take away from this passage about focusing on the Truth and staying in fellowship with the Son and the Father? Tami W.

The warning in verse 18 is so powerful in light of the events going on in the world today. It is so important to keep ourselves in the Word, or like those John talked about, we may lose our way and become like the world. Very powerful verse. Thank you.

FIRST OF ALL WE MUST REMEMBER THAT SATAN IS THE PRINCE OF THE POWER OF THE AIR. HE CONTROLS THE WORLD SYSTEM. AND IF ANYONE DOUBTS THAT JUST LOOK At the doctrines the world is trying to exploit. We are responsible to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. Our GOD is a AWESOME GOD!!!!!! the danger of buying into the worlds system is that we can't hold the world in one hand and CHIRST in the other. Again, what can light and darkness share. WE MUST IMERGE OURSELVES IN THE WORD OF GOD. PEOPLE ARE CONTENT MANYTIMES TO SETTLE FOR WHAT THEY HEAR,AND AGAIN SATAN IS SUTTLE. A LITTLE UNTRUTH HERE AND THERE. AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT PEOPLE ARE CARRIED ABOUT ON, TOSSED ABOUT ON FALSE WORDS OF DOCTRINE. KNOW THE WORD OUR BLESSED SAVIOUR WILL GUIDE US BY HIS HOLY SPIRIT. TO ABIDE MEANS TO LIVE INSIDE OF CHRIST'S BEING. WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES BUT CHRIST IS THERE TO TEACH AND FORGIVE US. I THANK HIM FOR HIS GIFT OF SALVATION.

What I took from the first verses is the anti christ will deny the Son and the Father. I've read this before but I hadn't noticed this. Also those who are righteous are right from God. That is nice.

This passage of scripture is saying alot to us in todays world where there is so much distractions, has believers we have to keep our eyes on things above because thats where our treasure lies.
