Proverbs 28:9; Psalm 119:33-40
I love reading Psalm 119 (yes, all 176 verses). It's truly one of my favorites because of how it focuses on God's Word (statutes, percepts, rules, instruction, decrees, commands, testimonies, regulations, truth, promises, law, commandments). Now we only read a short section today, verses 33-40, but they are powerful. What a precious prayer for us to pray and for God to hear. I was particularly drawn to verse 34. "Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart."
So how much do your prayers resemble Psalm 119:33-40? Was there a particular verse that spoke to you? What can you take from this passage and incorporate into your prayers? Tami W.

Tami,
The perfect choice. Verses 33 Teach me, ..... and verse 34, Give me understanding,..... really directs out path. When I retire in the evening, wake in the morning and every time I open my Bible I pray the Holy Spirit will enlighten my mind, open my heart, and increase my wisdom and understanding of God's Word. For only by God through the Holy Spirit, within us, can we achieve comprehension of God's word. We require the counsel and lead of God's Spirit every day. This we also must request through prayer every day. I find this a excellent way to get on, and stay on the road to and of prayer.
Prov, 28:9 If we follow Christ, out prayers will follow likewise.
The second scriptures were a prayer asking God to lead us in the right path. It is a good example for us to know we need Him to do right. Without Him there is no right way. I hope to seek Him daily if I don't already. I try to keep Him on my mind and heart each day to do right. God is able.
I like the discussion on prayer. Just like food is essential for daily living so is prayer. We need prayer, because prayer changes things,it changes situations in peoples lives. When we do it regular we gain a relation with God.The word says to ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shallfind;knock, and it be opened unto you. I remember a time in my life, I heard a voice kept telling me to seek the Lord now, while He may be found.I didn't, because I did not know how too.Sad for me, because I should have gotten on my knees and asked.
