Ephesians 5:15-21; 1 Corinthians 6:17-20

Paul instructs us to look carefully at how we walk and understand the will of the Lord in Ephesians 5:15-21. And in 1 Corinthians 6:17-20 he tells us that our body is not our own but a temple of the Holy Spirit and that we are to glorify God in our body.

What does walking wisely and glorifying God in your body look like for you (both spiritually and physically)? How will you put Paul's instructions into practice? Tami W.

Living a life of praise to the Lord through the work of the Holy Spirit is essential. This kind of life is available to us regardless of circumstances. God truly is amazing and when followers of Christ live this kind of life they are going to be "attractive" to the world.

This week I've been struggling with a new job, possibly moving, and what appears to be a purposefully deceitful new boss. All this tends to make me stressed and angry. Maybe as I view myself as Christ's own I need to stay with a dedicated Christian community. Caring for my body is a simple no-brainer for me, compared to keeping my thoughts on track this week. When I eat right and exercise, it's easier to get adequate sleep and it releases tension. Jogging becomes talking to God time. Staying away from blatant sin isn't too rough. It's the subtle stuff that can interfere with my walk with God. I just need to keep listening to that still small voice.

This morning's reading/study was SO very relevant to me! I had been having my devotional time with my Lord this morning and began to notice a pattern/topic forming in several devotional readings. After my prayer time, I called a friend to let her know that my surgery yesterday had gone well, and our conversation led to the importance of trusting God's all powerful love EVEN when circumstances might APPEAR otherwise.

For me, living wisely means not leaning to my own understanding .. but rather knowing and TRUSTING in God's wisdom .. that God is not only IN all my circumstances WITH me, but He also ordained each one in order that I will be transformed to the likeness of His Son - my Saviour - Jesus the Christ. And in knowing that, to look to Him in prayer .. asking to be filled with His spirit and for the understanding to know His will.

Glorifying God in my body today was being able to share with my friend what God has been showing me in my spirit this morning, and the pure JOY of us sharing His word with each other - "speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord .. "

Thank you for this wonderful study you have made available to us every day .. AND for the opportunity to share with each other through this blog!! What a wonderful resource .. I am VERY thankful for Back to The Bible and ALL of the wonderful resourses God has provided through this ministry.
love, hugs, 'n prayers

Walking wisely both spiritually and physically means not letting anything but God have control over me.Trying to remember that Christ died in place of me and my life needs to be worthy of that takes lots of prayer and refection, but is just what has to take place to glorify God.

I believe thee Apostle Paul is telling us here not to get drunk! Our laws are that way too!Just ask anybody whose had an OWI/DWI!They are expensive as they get!I was just reading about someone got a $3200 fine-OUCH IS RIGHT!Alot of money for most of us!And in a city near me a guy at work was telling me that they(police)was giving "breataliyzer tests"to people walking home at 2-3 in the morning
