One Important Day

2 Corinthians 5:1-10

Paul gives us a little preview and a pep talk of sorts in 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 about living now but looking toward our heavenly home. I found his words about being in good spirits, walking by faith and not by sight, and making it our aim to please God very encouraging. The most important verse for me, however, was verse 10. "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil."

So what does 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 show us about the importance of living to please God? How can we use our knowledge of the Judgment Seat of Christ as a motivator in the here and now? Tami W.

P.S. Dr. Kroll has just started a 3 week series on the Judgment Seat of Christ, Salvation and Eternal Rewards. This is information we all need to know. So if you're not already listening, I encourage you to join us for the rest of these important messages.

The idea of the judgment seat of Christ should help motivate us to serve Jesus Christ. If you are like me, sometimes the motivation wanes (yes I know it should not) when I don't see the results or the rewards here in heaven. Passages like this keep me going, knowing that God is not going to let anything go unnoticed.

I am so discouraged because I don't know what exactly God wants me to be doing. I go to church, bible study and still don't know that I am on the right path. When I pray I can't concentrate. I am always thinking I am not doing enough. I need God to let e know that I am where I am suppose to be. Any advice?

We say or feel sometimes that we do not know what God wants us to do? But is that true? God has told us what He wants us to do and leaves it up to us to choose. He wants all of of us to believe in Him. Do we believe in God? Do we believe that Jesus is the Son of God? That God (The Holy Ghost) came down from heaven unto Mary and she gave birth to our Lord and saviour who gave His life as a ransom for us. He went to the Cross alone, shed His blood and died for us. He was buried and on the third day arose from the dead and ascended into heaven after He appeared to His disciples and others. I believe! even though I have never seen Him but I read His Word and I believe. I receive His blessings and His bountiful gifts everyday and I know they come from no one else but God.

Believe Him. He has never lied to us. Keep praying and keep in His Word. When the road seems too rocky and you think you are at the end, call on His name. He will never ever leave us or forsake us. Trust Him. He is just awesome. Satan wants us to believe that Jesus is not alive but we know differently. Jesus has beaten Him once no three times when he tried to tempt Him. But the greatest battle is yet to come. Looking forward to being judged by Jesus at the Judgment Seat of Christ, is a great honour and we should strive and work to see Jesus' smile when He sees us before His throne. Let us pray for each other that God will strengthen us in our walk of faith and to guide us over each obstacle that Satan uts before us. Let us pray for a revival when all evil is vanquished. May He bless us always.

Dora,
Your comment sound so much like things I have said. What I learned is that I was listening to the lies of Satan and not the truth of the Bible. I was so focused on the "thou shall not" that I was missing God's grace and mercy. What helped me was a study of God's promises and blessings...going through Ephesians, Galatians, Colossians and especially Romans 8 and writing down every promise and blessing in the passage. If you can't concentrate when you pray, pray back those verses, thanking God for what He has given you. I hope this is helpful...it is a long road, one I still battle because Satan is always there telling us that we're not good enough; and, of course we are not, but Praise God that when we” confess our sins He is faithful and just and will purify us from all unrighteousness.”
