John 16:7-15

Just a few short verses today, but boy, are they full of helpful information about the Holy Spirit. If you've ever wondered about the benefits or the role of the Holy Spirit, this is definitely a good place to read.

So what did you learn about the Holy Spirit from John 16:7-15? How can you draw on what you saw about the Holy Spirit here in John 16 to strengthen your walk with the Lord? Tami W.

These verses kind of go along with what I wrote yesterday. Maybe that is why these verses were chosen for today.
Thank God for sending His Holy Spirit to dwell in each of His children. We have SOMEONE that instantly reveils guidance, comfort, truth, instruction, and even correction when needed. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THAT AND SO MUCH MORE!

For me the most significant part of this passage, though all parts are significant is that the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus (vs 14). The Spirit and Jesus are One, not two individual players in God's plan. In my opinion an overemphasis on the Holy Spirit is misguided and has led and can lead to a lot of very strange things.

This is a wonderful passage that speaks assurance to the Christian believer. It tells us that we can rely on the Holy Spirit for true guidance. If we truly rely on Him for guidance, and if we are truly listening, we will not be led astray.

Unfortunately this passage is misused by many in today's liberal denominations (of one of which, I must say, I am a member, albeit part of a faithful remnant)to say that when the Spirit is guiding us into all truth He is telling us new things; new things regarding sexual orientation, social or environmental activism and a "pro-choice" agenda, for a few examples.

But God will not contradict Himself. He is not the author of confusion. And these people are indeed promoting a new gospel, which actually is a gospel of cofusion

The significance of the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian is often times overlooked and understated. I must admit that even in my own Christian walk it can be easy to forget to rely on the help of the Helper. Its easy to Edge God Out (EGO)after He`s guided me, strenghthened and conducted me on the paths of righteousness. Its almost as if I use the Holy Spirit as a pair of training wheels and when I`m off and rolling I say ``OK I`ve got this.`` But thank God that He`s faithful to me even when I`m unfaithful to Him.

I thank God for you Tami and Wood.

The things yet to be revealed. To us! Through the Spirit. Yet further the revealing even in these verses who the ruler of the world is and that he has already been judged. Fantastic!! Love God.

The Holy Spirit is always with us and today Back to the Bible teaching was a reminder of that, even though we sometimes forget about the vital roll the Holy Spirit plays in our lives. thank you Holy spirit for dwelling in ME

I notice Transcripts of the program broadcasts are now available again, thank you for having them.

very timely message once again. I recently attended a very charasmatic retreat where the Holy Spirit was emphasized all weekend, and the Father and Son were put on the back burner....we really need to engage all 3 deities in the Godhead. The Holy Spirit guides and helps, but certainly does not replace.

To Doug (and everyone),

Yes! We're glad to announce that the transcripts of the Back to the Bible program are available once again. Thanks for your patience as we made some updates to our website!
