Psalm 89:24-52
Today we turn to the second half of Psalm 89 by Ethan the Ezrahite. We looked at the first 26 verses yesterday and we saw much praising of the Lord. Today we're focusing on verses 24-52 and now we discover that Ethan the Ezrahite's situation is a tough one. And much of the second half of this Psalm is Ethan pouring out the concerns and troubles on his heart to the Lord. At one point he even says "Lord, where is your steadfast love of old, which by your faithfulness you swore to David?" (vs. 49). So has Ethan changed his mind about God? No way. Psalm 89 ends with these telling words, "Blessed be the Lord forever! Amen and Amen."
So what can we learn from Ethan the Ezrahite? What does Psalm 89 show us about God and our communication with Him? Tami W.

I think we can learn from old Ethan here by remembering to begin our conversations with God reminding ourselves of the goodness of God and His love. When we do that, we are better prepared to then take our questions to Him, especially when things are going poorly from our perspective. God is GOOD and He can do nothing that is not ultimately in our best interest. Thanks Ethan for the reminder. Hope things turned out well for you...well, I know they turned out well because God would have it no other way!
Communication with God! Well through thick and thin we can communicate with Him. He is always there to hear every prayer, every concern, even when we are on the outs with him becasue of our decisions. He is faithful. This wsa hard to read and I had to stop and re-read it. To actually hear it. Ethan did wrong and he was going thourhg troubles but he continued to call on Christ. And that is a lesson we all can use. Through thick and thin Christ is there and He will deliver.
Ethan reminds me that all of us can go to God no matter what our concerns are. God does know our motives so our words are not that important to Him. Christ is there to interpret our words to God. Sometimes there are not the right human words to say. Thank God for His understanding of even our deepest thoughts like no one else here on earth can do. Praise His name!!
