Genesis 24:15-60
Focused. Determined. On Track. Those are just a few of the ways I would describe Abraham's servant who I found pretty amazing, by the way. We're not even told this man's name, yet the example of serving he provides is one of the best. This man definitely gave me something to think about regarding my own service.
We're all called to serve the Lord. So how can we use the example provided by Abraham's servant to improve on our service? Was there anything specific this man did that you would like to model? If so, how do you plan to do that? Tami W.
I was blessed by this story and God continues to provide food through His Word. I've read this many of times and still I get something new. The new thing that I received today was how relentless this servant was. What I would like to model is that this servant was specific in his obedience and he didn't even let godly people distract him from accomplishing what he was sent out to do. Even our own Christian family can be a distraction or our fellow brothers and sisters in our local body. This shows me that this servant was confident in what he was to do. I want to be confident in my servant hood and when I am unsure, I will serve with faith that what I am doing is of God.
Abraham's servant was obedient to his master in everything that Abraham asked of Him. He did not allow anything to distract him for the service that was entrusted upon him. He knew that Abraham trusted him to carry out these duties to the end and so he did. It is the same with our Lord. When He gives us a task we too should be obedient and do it, because He will be opening the doors for us. When He opens the door then no one can close it but Him. When God chooses us He knows that we can do the work and all we have to do is to trust and obey Him. Do not worry! because He will equip us. Let us always remember to pray also as part of our daily food.
If there were one thing to model after this servant it would be his determination to please his master.As christian we have to be ever so determine to do the will of GOD because our adversary is always seeking to throw off course from doing the will of GOD.BROTHERS &SISTER continue to pray my strength in the LORD While i do likewise for you.
