Romans 4:1-25
We're getting yet another look at Abraham and the importance of faith today, only this time from Romans. No matter how much I read or hear about faith, I still find myself wondering about it--how to get more of it, how to strengthen it, sometimes why I've faltered with it. So I'm glad our passage was Romans 4:1-25 today because it really spoke to me in a fresh way about faith. I was particularly struck by verses 20-22 where I found a number of "nuggets" to draw on and put into practice. "No distrust made him [Abraham] waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised."
So how did Romans 4 impact you today? What nuggets about faith did you uncover? Tami W.

Paul does such a masterful job of stressing the importance and primacy of faith over the law. Sinful human beings need to hear this over and over and over and ...(well, you get the point). Our natural deference is to the law, to a system of deeds and acts which we can see and catalog and count. But in our foolishness, we can't see that our deeds could never make up for our sin. We long for human relationships which are based on love and faith and not on deeds and actions. Yet we turn away from such an offering to have a relationship with the living God; because it seems too easy or too good to be true. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is the key.
This was such a wonderful and blessed reminder to me. God has made a promise to me and I have been lacking in my faith towards His promise. This has reminded me to remain steadfast in my faith that God will do exactly what He said He will do in my life and the lives of my family members. I thank God for Tami and everyone with their wisdom. You all have truly blessed me today and I am so overjoyed that I cannot stop thanking Him. Always remember to believe by FAITH and not by sight. God Bless! And to God be all the glory.

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
